How packaging can help brands access more markets and greater profits

We cook up branding and package design for Amber18 — showing saffron as it has never been seen

COMMUNICATIONS CHALLENGE

Trade restrictions are a significant problem for international saffron sales, but how exactly is this dominant producer inflicting additional and unnecessary pain on its profit margins? Allow us to explain how by sharing our very own solution.

At Zigma8, we always aim to be better in a better market, and one way we do this is by partnering with clients to help them develop their positions in their respective markets. Allow us to explain how we made the best, even better.

A branding agency that gets results

We researched the saffron industry and learned that this sales situation doesn’t need to be this way. The results formed the basis of a unique and self-initiated challenge, leading to the branding and packaging of Amber18. Our true challenge was not to create the brand itself but to create a case example of how producers can be better in their market while increasing their potential profits.

COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTION

Zigma8, an award-winning packaging design agency

We often help our clients by providing them with complete packaging solutions. Our award-winning packaging design always accounts for secure transportation, but just as importantly, we understand that it performs a sales task. Of course, attractive packaging helps sales because people often buy with their eyes, as we say. Great design will help appeal to those eyes, but creating an allure with coherent branding will establish a sales platform to benefit from in the long term.

Luxury logotype design

The name,  Amber18, combines the product color with a less apparent yet related reference. Saffron is occasionally referred to as red-like gold—for its color—but this reference also hints towards its weight value, which exceeds gold, even 18-karat gold. Working with this name, we designed a modern-looking logotype that uses a handwritten theme to correlate with the hand-picked element of quality saffron.

We complimented the name and logotype with a short and seductive slogan: the rare purity. These words apply to gold and saffron while giving a premium feel to the luxurious product.

Package design for the international market

Having packaged the product within a premium-feeling brand, we looked to solve the main issue facing international saffron sales: secure packaging for transportation. Our design team combined a luxurious 18-karat gold bullion finish with a packaging solution that will keep the product fresh until the point of consumption. Our solution also allowed for a wide variety of international standards texts that local manufacturers often need to pay more attention to, resulting in the loss of business.

COMMUNICATIONS RESULT

Our results were a case example of how saffron sellers can better sell on the international market. Our solutions are founded on deep market analysis and based on years of experience in brand solutions for consumer goods.

Top branding agencies looking to take your brand to the next level

We hope to truly get results by sharing this example with saffron producers and many other manufacturers that struggle with international trade.
